What Customers Say About Motorola Signal Booster 484095-001-00 Bi-Directional RF Amplifier:

tried moving my antenna, didn't work. Live in Philadelphia about 6 miles from the TV stations. Bought this piece of JUNK over Amazon.Installed today to get better OTA digital signal. Was getting good OTA signal strength before digital switch for my local NBC station. After the digital switch the signal strength dropped. No change in strength of signal. Total waste of my hard earned [.].Gave it one star because there is no way to give negative stars.Don't Waste your money.

This product may be great in areas with weak signals, but my experience was different through no fault of the product. The unit actually did little to change reception from those two stations. When our tv hdtv tuner was having difficulty pulling in PBS and ABC, I thought it could be weak signals. Long story short, the problem lies with the tv tuner, as we tested other tuners (TIVO and a DVD recorder) using the same OTA antenna --- no problems. Thus, we returned it. Ironically, after the DTV transition, both problem stations migrated their hdtv signals to a different frequency and now there are hardly any reception problems.

I received a few more channels over the air than previously. At the same time I replaced the old coax with RG6 from the antenna to the signal booster (house wiring was already RG6). I previously had a rather cheap booster and once I connected the Motorola I could tell an immediate improvement over the cheap model. I needed a replacement signal booster following a lightning strike to overcome the 9db loss of the splitter, plus the line loss for so much coax. I live in a "fringe" to "deep fringe" area when it comes to receiving over the air digital TV signals. While the antenna pre-amp did a lot for the increase in the signal strength, the signal booster does an outstanding job of ensuring a solid signal reaches all 6 TVs. I purchased the highly rated Channel Master 7777 and installed it on my antenna mast. Therefore I decided to keep my old antenna and would just try adding an antenna pre-amp to the mix.

I pointed the backside of the antenna directly towards Columbia, and the front side is pointed towards Charleston (37 degrees off direct line of sight). At first I explored the idea of replacing a 20+ year old antenna in an attempt to boost the input signal. I'm running the antenna signal to 6 TVs through a 6 way splitter. The end result is outstanding reception of all channels from the correct side of the antenna, and excellent reception from the backside of the antenna.with distances of 55 miles and 56 miles respectively. Obviously a signal booster does a better job with a strong input signal than a weak input signal. However, after exploring possibilities and tvfool.com, I found that I was already receiving most of what I should receive during perfect atmospheric conditions. Relative signal strength is >90 from Charleston and >65 from Columbia. I highly recommend this product.

I would recommend this to people with similar problems like me. I just disconnected the ac power adapter from the signal booster in the basement to plug in something for a while and i come back up stairs then my internet is out.

I was frustrated because my cable modem would lose connection once or twice a day sometimes for a short or long period. I had problems with my cable line having a low signal or going out numerous times, called the cable company to fix it twice but still got a low signal.

How do i know it works. So i decided to give this a try.

After 6 months of use i rarely get disconnected from my cable modem and my cable tv hasn't gone out yet. So i plug the booster power back in and reset my modem and it is working.

BUT make sure you install the booster at the main source where your cable line goes in your house like one of the others said in their review.

Arrived on time. Did not use. Returned to seller since I subsequently purchased the same booster with 4 output ports.
